DYNAVECTOR 505 REBUILD
Right from the start I never knew what problems this arm had.
I just checked it top to bottom and it was most enjoyable, though it
took me a very long time to repair!

Unit arrived in the best packaging I have ever seen!

Unit was complete with all the accessories but had bearing damage… to
both horizontal and vertical bearings

There was too much wire at the horizontal bearing…adding to resistance
of movement

The vertical assembly above

Above- wee can see damage on both vertical bearings…these will need
replaced
…Lets take a closer look

Bearing 1 |

Bearing 2 |

Horizontal bearing @ X10 mag |

Horizontal bearing @ X60 mag |
Above- we can see the bearing wear on the shaft at X60…. big job now
to reface the bearing shaft
(Click an image for a larger view)

This is the new shaft face @X60

Next we rewire the internals with OFC plastic coated…
Check earths reassemble bearings…. the bearing damage was more than
likely done in transit…
This arm is very heavy and needs be stripped down for transportation.

I have pulled more spare through the head…
This is mainly because the original design this wire was too tight and
added resistance to movement
(Plus it leaves enough to last a lifetime)

Also external wire replaced with the Monster thick OFC and extra high
quality gold phonos…
and we used a silver coated earth lead for this unit

I manufactured a new rear plug and now the wire is complete.
No connector also earth tag inside is 25mm long for extra good
connection
All connections tested at less than 1-ohm resistance or better

Almost finished …I had to glue the magnetic dampers back into place
shown here.
Also notice this units arm cue is working (we used our Treacle damper
fluid)
Also the styli’s pressure control knob has been stripped and cleaned we
used Booster oil for the fine workings
